  1. Sometimes when I think back about my childhood and young adulthood I wonder how I got out of bed in the morning. How did I make it through my days in school? How did I manage to hold a job? I was suffering almost unbearable emotional pain and loneliness along with all of the many symptoms of CPTSD. I should have broken down in sobs every day but I didn’t. I just kept going through the motions of my life without joy or peace, without anticipation or planning for my future. I was surviving, not thriving.
