Good afternoon, Dear Readers!

I just wanted to let you know I received my proof copy of my book today.  It looks great but I’ll inspect it closer tonight.  Barring any unforseen issues, I’ll approve it tomorrow, & it’ll be available not only on my website as it is now, but also on amazon, B&N, & other online book sellers within about a month.

Also, thank you everyone for the prayers.  My father is now home from the hospital.

My New Book Is Almost Ready For Publishing!

Good news!

My current book, “It’s All About ME! The Facts About Maternal Narcissism” is almost ready for publishing in print & ebook forms! I am hopeful to have this done in the very near future. I’d like to say within a few days, but since I never know how I’m going to feel (thank you, C-PTSD), I’ll say within a couple of weeks instead just to be safe. I will post when it is published, & share links of where the books can be purchased.

Thank you everyone for your support & encouragement while writing this difficult book!

Would You Please Do A Favor For Me?

Good afternoon, Dear Readers! I come to you today asking a favor from you…

For a couple of years now, I have wanted to write a book compiled of stories about people who have survived abuse. Any kind of abuse- physical, sexual or psychological. In particular, I want to hear about how they have survived & learned to heal. I want stories of people in all stages of healing.

I firmly believe this book would inspire & help many people. And, to assure anyone can read it, I’d like to make it a free ebook.  I will not sell it.

So far, I have only received a few stories for this book. I would like to have a few more.

Won’t you consider sharing your story? You can do so anonymously- you can use a fake name when you submit it.

How Was Your Mothers’ Day?

I hope everyone had a pleasant, peaceful day yesterday!  ❤   Thankfully now Mothers' Day is behind us.  It's time to relax!  Yay!  How are you going to relax today?

Today I made some progress on my new book about narcissistic mothers.  🙂  I realized, though, that I could use more input from others about the men married to narcissistic women- these fathers of daughters of narcissistic mothers.  If you would like to contribute your thoughts, please feel free to comment on this post, or email me at: CynthiaBaileyRug@AOL.com.  All information received via email will be kept completely anonymous, I promise you.

Share Your Story!

Good morning, Dear Readers!

I just wanted to remind everyone about the book I’m working on.  It will be available for free in ebook format.  I’m thinking of entitling it, “Broken But Still Beautiful” or something like that.  The topic is how God helps people who have been abused to heal.  I want to encourage people that no matter what they have survived, God still has a purpose for them, & wants to help love them through their pain.

No matter what stage of healing you are in, I want your story.  Even if you are still being abused, your story can be encouraging to someone, because it will show others that God is always there, even during the darkest times.

I know sharing details of abuse is painful.  When I wrote my autobiography, “Emerging From The Chrysalis“, it was among the most painful experiences of my life.  However, I felt it was a necessary thing to do.  This book also, I feel is necessary.  I also want to assure your annonymity by encouraging you to use fake names when you share your story.  No one needs to know this is your story- just knowing someone has survived something painful with God’s help will encourage others.

Please pray about sharing your story for inclusion in this book.  If you want to see more details, check out this link: Making A Difference

Or, you can email me at CynthiaBaileyRug@aol.com

Good afternoon, Dear Readers!

I’m sorry for not posting lately.  I had a nasty flashback last Friday night, then had to go out twice on Saturday which set the agoraphobia off like mad.   That left me extremely frustrated since I used to be very independent, in addition to the anxiety & depression that this was happening.  I’ve been recovering since.  I am exhausted, physically & mentally, as usual.  Makes it hard to focus on writing anything.

Apparently it also makes reading more challenging than normal.  I’ve had a tough time reading for a while now- after a while, the words pretty much blur together on the page.  But after flashbacks or bad days, it’s even harder.  From what I’ve read, that is a normal part of C-PTSD & PTSD.  This is so frustrating since I love books.  And, I just got Stephen King’s sequel to “The Shining”, “Dr. Sleep.”  You have no idea how much I want to finish this book & find out what happens!

I’m trying different things to deal with these common problems with C-PTSD.  As for recovery after flashbacks, I think rest is the best thing.  Being lazy- watching movies, gardening, knitting.  Activities that I enjoy but don’t require a lot of effort on my part help me.  Avoiding stressful activities, such as going to a crowded store are also important.

As for the reading problem, I’m having to learn to take it in small steps.  I used to read an entire book in an afternoon.  Now?  A while, then take a break, read some more, take a break.  It makes it less frustrating if I stop as soon as the “blurring” starts.

I’ve learned something else.  This is the most important thing- I saved the best for last.  When symptoms flare up, whatever the symptoms are, it is best to get quiet.  During those quiet times, God gives me creative ways to deal with the symptoms.  He taught me about ways to ground myself during a flashback before I read anything about grounding techniques.

Good morning, Dear Readers!

I am thinking of making one of my books into a first edition hard back version.  I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on which one.  Below is a list of the possibilities.  I would love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to email me directly at CynthiaBaileyRug@aol.com or leave a comment on this post.  Thank you!

“Sins of the Father”

When a good, all-American, Christian family man is discovered to have tortured seven men to death, no one is more stunned than his devoted, yet naive wife, and their two children.   Only when his crimes are discovered does he divulge the horrors of being born into a Satanic cult, which drove him to kill.   This is a story of the power of God to carry His children with love and strength through even the most painful circumstances.

“The Christian Woman’s Guide To Killing Her Husband”

Lily Hamilton and Melanie Brooks are best friends with a lot in common. Both are devoted Christians, both love antiques and books, and both are married to men who put their families ahead of their wives. Steve’s domineering mother, Joanne, never tries to disguise her hatred of Lily. Mark takes care of his little sister, even if that means hurting Melanie or losing their home.

After several years, both Lily and Melanie are fed up. In a moment of frustration, they decide the only way to solve the trouble with their husbands is to kill them. They create a plan for the perfect murder. Soon after, their husbands die exactly has they had planned.

Did these women kill their husbands? Or is it a case of divine intervention?

 Non-Fiction:

“You Are Not Alone!”

Is your mother difficult or even abusive? Is she cruel, controlling or mentally ill? Does time with her leave you drained, frustrated or crying? Do you believe no one understands your pain? Have you been told to “get over it,” “stop living in the past,” or made to feel ashamed of yourself for being upset with your mother, even by those who know how much she hurts you?

“You Are Not Alone!” tackles the taboo topic of abusive mothers from a Christian perspective. It discusses various types of abusive mothers, problems caused by abuse, getting to the root of problems to heal, and ways to cope. This book also teaches ways of dealing with dysfunctional parents, as well as tough topics such as how do you honor your abusive parents, what do you owe aging and abusive parents, and deciding whether or not to end the relationship with your mother.

“Emerging From The Chrysalis”

“Emerging From The Chrysalis” is a story of surviving abuse and how to conquer its pain.

In this inspiring book, the author describes her own painful experiences with the various forms of psychological abuse (verbal, mental and emotional abuse), as well as how she moved from the role of victim to survivor.

“A Witness Of Faith”

“[No] you yourselves are our letter of recommendation (our credentials), written in your hearts, to be known (perceived, recognized) and read by everybody.”  (2 Corinthians 3:2, AMP)

Many Christians know this verse, but how many consider the seriousness of it?  As a Christian, are you aware that people are watching you, to see if you are serious about your faith?

God takes our witness of what we believe very seriously, as should His children.  This book will encourage you, show you to be a shining example of your Christian faith, and improve your relationship with God, yourself, and your fellow man.

“Lessons From The Heart: What Animals Have Taught Me About Life And Love”

There is much more to our animal companions than meets the eye. They are far wiser than the casual observer realizes, and can teach humans a great deal about life.

In this book, the author details some valuable life lessons she learned from her own pets over the years that have helped her to live a happier, more fulfilling life.

This book will teach wives that it is possible for one person to improve a marriage. It also teaches women that being good to themselves is beneficial not only to their own happiness, but to their marriage as well.

Personal experiences by the author and pictures of her own pets are included as well.

“Pawprints On Our Hearts” is designed to give you an entirely new perspective on our animal friends- to help you view them as God does- and to improve your experiences with our animal companions. May this book bless you and yours!

Happy Saturday, Dear Readers!  🙂

I just thought I’d let you know that I have finally finished redoing my website.  Not a lot of changes, but a few.  Go check it out:

www.CynthiaBaileyRug.com

I still can’t believe the external hard drive crashed & I lost the site *sighs* but at least it’s online & fully functional again.  Now to get back to the latest book, “You Are Not Alone!”  There isn’t much left to do on the book.. more editing, then designing the covers & off to the publisher it goes before promotion.  As soon as the publisher has the book, it will be available for purchase in ebook form as well as print on my website.  I’ll announce it here, & it should be happening in the next few weeks, barring any further setbacks.

Thank you everyone for your patience & understanding!
